Who can give a divorce?

People marry to stay together or have a family. For this reason, divorce is usually not desired by anyone. But under special circumstances separation becomes inevitable. Either spouse can file for divorce. But there is a condition for the wife to give divorce. If the right of divorce is given to the wife in column 18 of the Nikahnama at the time of marriage registration, then the wife can grant the divorce. In this case, the same procedure as mentioned for the husband is also applicable for the wife. However, if the right to divorce is not given, the wife can apply for divorce in the family court.
